Rehabilitation Programme

What Is CASP Rehabilitation Programme?

This is a twelve month 3 Phase stabilisation Day Programme that is designed to meet the needs of individuals in recovery from substance misuse to support them to move through the process of change.

It is incorporated with Community Employment in order to provide a structural framework from which the programme can be delivered. The models of intervention are based on the principles of a client centred approach in order to addresses their individual needs. The main elements of the programme are Therapeutic, Holistic and Educational.

Entry Criteria

The Programme is aimed at individuals who are ready to make a change and appear highly motivated in addressing their substance misuse. The following is the criteria for entry:

  • Live in the catchment area of Clondalkin 22 area
  • Stable on the methadone programme for 2 months
  • Be free from illicit substance use, which includes all substances other than prescribed by their GP
  • Be able to commit to the attendance requirements of the programme
  • No barriers in preventing them to participate in all elements of the programme
  • Holistic and Educational components.

Referral Process

If an individual wishes to be apply for the Programme they will be required to engage with their key worker and referrals can be made from other agencies within the community or self referral within our own agency or outside. This ensures that each individual has an opportunity to apply for a place on the programme. It is important that each individual is given the opportunity of applying for a place and being a part of the recruitment interview process.

How we Advertise

  • Poster is put up on window in Methadone clinic in CASP and in reception table and walls.
  • Poster is put up in local GP surgeries
  • Poster placed in CLAC Clinic

Step 1

  • The individual will be asked to complete the initial assessment in an application process with the support of a key worker within the community or/ and in CASP

Step 2

  • Based on the information received the Rehab Leader shall allocate interview times for each individual
  • Individuals will be contacted by post and/or by telephone

Step 3

  • The individual will be invited for an interview and consent forms to be signed at this point in order to have access to urine results
  • All individuals that complete applications will be invited to attend the interview / recruitment process
  • Each individual will be assessed through a rating system process and results will be determined by this rating system. Individuals that meet the programme criteria will be offered a place on the programme

Programme Induction

  • Each new participant will complete a three – month contract and this will be the probationary period
  • The Probationary Period will enable the new participant to have an insight into the structure of the programme and build up a relationship with support staff
  • At the end of this process a decision will be made in relation to extending their employment contract
  • During the probation period, the participant will get an understanding of the requirements in order to remain on the programme
  • The participant will be familiar with the structure of the programme, therefore important to avail of support from staff involved with the programme

The programme is very much client centred approach and is delivered on the bases of incorporating a Therapeutic, Holistic and Educational components.

  3. Horticulture Level 3 & Level 4

  5. Personal & Inter Personal Skills Level 3
